This
is the Revell of Germany 1/32 scale F-4J MD Phantom II (Wild Horse), Kit #04706.
To complete it, I used the Eduard exterior photo-etch kit for extra detail and I
airbrushed it with Model Masters Italian Red #2719, Model Masters French Blue
#2715 & Gloss White. I found several photos of the actual plane on the
internet but they were low quality and showed very little close-up detail.
Overall, the kit is of average quality, it has well defined panel lines but the
fitting of the pieces is lacking, it took a bit of filling an sanding to even
them out along the seams, especially around the intakes.

I
recommend buying an aftermarket cockpit or at minimum, 2 ejection seats because
the interior needs a lot of help. When
applying the horse decals along the fuselage, I had to use a lot of decal
solution to get them to form to shape and then I had to cut them along the wing
root. I recommend tracing the bottom decal onto foto-frisket and airbrushing it
in lieu of using the decal because it comes in several pieces and they’re
extremely hard to shape around the missile wells and to match them up.
Once
I got the kit together and painted, I sealed it with clear coat and future floor
wax. Building a Revell kit is always a learning experience the first time
around, but if you use a few after market accessories and foto-frisket cut-outs
of the decals, the kit can be done up right.

I’ll try it again. If you’re
