1/48 Monogram AV-8B

I built the Harrier out of the box with the exception of the decals; the supplied decals were too thick and the formation lights too yellow.  I used an old Superscale set that included a desert storm VMA-231 jet.  I used a photo supplied by my brother when the jet was repainted in Iwakuni, Japan prior to deploying to the Gulf.  I made up my own side number to go with the Bureau number.  I had to cut down the outriggers because the main gear was suspended in the air!  another beef with this kit is the fit of the wing to the fuselage; I had to shim the bottom of the wing and really clean up the top wing/fuselage seam at the rear.  I didn't show wear as the photo showed a freshly painted bird.  This is my first ARC submission, thanks to Steve for making it easy to submit.
