This is Eduard's
Fokker D. VII (Fokker production), built straight from the box. There are markings
for four aircraft, including four and five color upper and lower lozenge decals
and rib tapes. A fret of color photoetched parts is also in the box.

This kit is
beautifully detailed, and doesn't really need any aftermarket materials, unless
you wish to have different markings. Two separate fuselages, exhausts, and
radiators are included. Either the first or last Fokker production version can
be built. This is the last version, with the single exhaust, notched radiator,
and extra cooling louvers.
I have not built a 1/48 WW I
aircraft in about ten years, since the DML kits were available. There are many
interesting early 'flying machine" kits available, but the wing and landing
gear alignment (and the rigging!) have always intimidated me. I found there was
NOTHING to fear from this kit. The strut alignment takes care of itself, without
large plugs or "U" shapes (which create unsightly gaps in
difficult-to-cleanup areas of detail).

Eduard's molding is top notch. I
have never seen another manufacturer mold parts as tiny, delicate, or thin. The
rudder is so thin and sharp, it's translucent!
The decals are beautifully
printed, and include Fokker logos and stencils. The lozenge is sectioned, and
fits perfectly.
If you want to add some WW I
aircraft to your collection, check out the ones from Eduard. The Fokker D. VII
and E. V have minimal rigging, and are excellent choices as an introduction to
aircraft of the First World War.
