Special F-14 Tomcat Sunset Update Sept 2006

Tomcats are slick. Their popularity is as much expected as it is understandable. Even before The Cruiser sat in one, the Tomcat was cool. A major departure from Grumman's aeronautical pedigree that consisted mainly of sturdy, portly, radial piston-engined battle-buses such as the Avenger. In the Tomcat, there is a growling menace and sense of purpose described entirely by it's elegant profile, before even considering its operational capabilities.

Nothing major to report on building this kit. Almost everything was satisfactory, with the exception of the decals which were mirrored - meaning that port-side decals were fine, but starboard decals read backwards if applied as prescribed! Very little filler was required and particularly good was the canopy, which was of a fine quality considering the price of this kit. A highly recommended kit to serve as a trainer for some of the high-end Tomcat kits that are available.
