Today
I'd like to show you my 1/48 scale Spitfire from Hasegawa, in markings for
the 51° Fighter Wing of the Italian Air Force.
The quality of the detailling on the parts is the usual quality we
expect from Hasegawa, and
that is excellent, and with a very beautiful level of surface detail. These Spitfires Mk IX
primarily operated from northern Italy and exactly from Treviso S. Angelo airport in 1948.
The only additions that I have done to the kit, the seatbelts have
been produced in photoengraving and the various cables of the radio.

Once
I finished building my Spitfire, it was time ot move onto the painting
process, which was performed with the Model-Master colors, particularly the aluminium
metalizer, an excellent product, also because once dry, it can be
polished with a soft cloth giving excellent results.
Once
I completed the painting, I applied the first coat of transparent shiny varnish,
followed by a second, and once dry I applied the decals, which
are followed by another coat of transparent shiny varnish.
I did some very careful chipping of the paint with a toothpick to give my
Spitfire that used look. A
very
beautiful kit that I recommend to everybody.
