In flight 1/48 Hasegawa F-4J Phantom

Chapter 21.

This is the other half of my bash all my spare parts into 2 usable kits. This kit combines the wings of a newer issue F-4J and the fuselage of a early (1980's) Hasegawa kit.  Main problem I had was a bunch of warped parts.  The landing gear I had was next to useless.  So it was time to build gear up.

The next question was what to mount the landing- gear-less model on.  Well.......I "borrowed" a stand from my daughters "Barbie". At this point I still was not sure exactly which J Phantom I was going to make.

Next question....well ok I have a in-flight model.....but its boring.  So looking at my copy of Lou Drendils "And Kill Migs", I noticed a illustration of Cunningham and Driscols 5th Mig kill.  Perfect, I even had the Yellowhammer decals in the stash.

Once everything was mounted I had to figure a way to show a in flight Sidewinder. I attached a sewing pin to the Sidewinder and simply glued it to the missile rail with a little cotton to represent smoke.
