  Brazilian Republic Day 2007

Hi, this is my first time here on ARC, I´m 15 years old and I live in Brazil.  This is my last finished project, a PBY Catalina in Brazilian Air Force colors during the WWII.  The Catalina was completed an important job in FAB service, helping to develop the Amazon region an operating in SAR service.  During the WWII the most important event was the sinking of U-199 U-boat.  Here you have some of the history of Catalinas in FAB service: http://www.rudnei.cunha.nom.br/FAB/en/index.html

The kit was made straight out of box without any problems.  To the interior, I used Humbrol´s enamel interior green, the camouflage was done with Testors enamel Sea blue, Tamiya´s acrylic intermediate blue (xf-18) and an automotive paint for the white. The decals are FCM from set 72-06.  After the paint job, the weathering was made with oil paints and pastels.

To finish the project, a made a base from wood, and built a the tow truck and the WC-51 jeep in FAB markings. (from Academy WWII Ground vehicle set 4)

I hope you enjoy my cat ;)
