This is my
1/72 scale Academy Super Etendard. The kit is very basic in
detail but the fit was very good I used very little filler. To improve
detail I used a aftermarket P.E. detail set made by Eduard, and that
really made the difference, details are included for the cockpit and the
exterior, and I add some scratch built details too.
Construction
was straight forward, and when I was done with the glue was time to paint,
I used Humbrol 125 with some drops of blue for the upper surfaces and
white for the lower surfaces.
Once the paint
dried, I applied a coat of Humbrol clear gloss, and here the problems
began, after a week it wasn't completely dry.

Next steps
involved decals and man the kit's decals are the worst I ever see,
incorrect size, incomplete and out of register. I used an after market set
made by Aerocalcas, but you have to use some of the kit's decals anyway,
the decals silvered badly even over a puddle of future.
The final task
was gluing all the small detail like antennas, pitot, etc.
The unit 202
was deployed in the Malvinas war (Falklands) with excellent results using the
Exocet anti-ship missiles.
Weathering was
minimal because these planes were almost new when the war began.
I like the way the thing
turned out and the finished model was a fine addition to my collection of Argentinean
aircraft.
Best regards and
keep modeling!
Jeremias
