This is the new 1/48
resin cockpit for the Hasegawa A-7E. The masters for this set were done by
Master Modeller Mike Kirchoff. The set consists of 19 pieces of the
typical cream coloured resin common to all Black Box sets.
The part that
really stands out in this set is the cockpit tub. The level if detail on
htis cockpit tub is simply amazing. I would have to say this is one of the
nicest cockpit tubs from Black Box. Just the number of buttons on the side
console is numbing to look at. The seat is well done and very accurate
looking with very crisp yet delicte detail.

Cockpit
tub....loaded with detail |
This set is designed for the
A-7E but if you wanted to do a later A-7 you'd have to track down the
different ejection seat used in the later version A-7's. The ejection seat
fit perfectly inot the cockpit tub. The instrument
panel is well done and includes tiny needles for the guages and looks quite
decent. Although I'm not a big fan of the A-7....the quality of this
set makes me think this could be a nice project.
