--------------------

This new decal sheet from Fightertown Decals includes markings for 3 different 1/48 F-14's with nose art with VF-84 & VF-41.

Special thanks to Mike Pister, David F Brown, Ron Young, Andy Mullen, Keith DeKoek, Rick Morgan and Fury for their help on this decal sheet.  Well done Guys!!!

The 3 aircraft include one CAG jet in hi-viz markings and 2 line jets in lo-viz markings.

  • F-14A with VF-84 Jolly Rogers 201 BuNo162682 during Operation Desert Storm January - June 1991.   Markings are the hi-viz black markings on a gray paint scheme.  Nose art is a scantily clad brunette wrapped in the Jolly Rogers flag on the right side of the nose.

  • F-14A with VF-84 Jolly Rogers 212 BuNo160926 in the summer of 1986.   Markings are the hi-viz black markings on a gray paint scheme.

  • F-14A with VF-41 Black Aces 201 BuNo162688 "Queen of Spades" during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.   Markings are the hi-viz red and black markings on a gray paint scheme.  Nose art is a naked brunette seen from the back on the left side of the nose with black script that reads "Queen of Spades".

The instructions are clear and include multiply views of each aircraft and a huge amount of painting and weathering instructions.  There is also weapons loadout information included in the instruction sheets.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet with 4 insert decal sheets and include landing gear, ejection seat and helmet and chest decals.  Plus 2 sets of formation lights, 2 sets of walkways and a set of data markings.  The quality of the decals is first rate.

Most modellers have a strong interest in aircraft with nose art and this decal sheet has nose art which makes it a big hit with me.
