Rotol propeller units (or airscrews to use the WWII term) were fitted to some Mk I Spitfires and most Mk IIs. With their rounded spinners and broad propellers they gave a distinctive powerful look to the Spitfire. Up until now these types have rarely been seen in kit form, but modellers now have the opportunity to convert any mainstream 1:72 Spitfire I kit to a Rotol Mk I or II Spitfire with our conversion kit.

The kit has parts for the spinner, propeller and coffman starter bulge, together with a finely detailed control column and seat. Included are adaptors for Airfix and Tamiya kits. With minor adaptation it also can be used with the Hasegawa Spitfire I. To complete the package there are high quality decals for four aircraft.

FEATURES:

  • Injection moulded in polystyrene from hardned steel moulds.

  • Fine, crisp detail.

  • Small gates, making cutting off easy.

  • Adaptor shafts for Tamiya and Airfix kits - giving easy, accurate assembly.

  • Decals printed by Fantasy Printshop with full colour painting and placement instructions for four aircraft:

    • Spitfire Mk I, 54 Sqn, March 1940 x 2 aircraft

    • Spitfire Mk II, 19 Sqn, June 1941 x 1 aircraft

    • Spitfire Mk II, 71 "Eagle" Sqn, August 1941 x 1 aircraft, two different schemes.

3D-KITS.co.uk has an ever growing product line that continues to make me grin with delight.  They are filling a very valuable niche and I am quite impressed with this conversion set.  The plastic parts are very well molded and the decals provide some very interesting markings options.....including an Eagle Squadron bird in 2 different paint schemes.  I was also pleased to see they included the Spitfire with the black and white underside as well as the later one colour underside.

You can purchase this conversion set and other decals sheets and detail items directly from 3D-KITS.co.uk

I would like to thank 3D-KITS.co.uk for providing me with this product sample.
