This resin and pre-painted photo etch set from Eduard is part of the Brassin series and is available directly from Eduard Model Accessories. This set includes one Spitfire Mk. XVI cockpit in 1/48 scale.
The Spitfire has one of the most complicated cockpit and this cockpit set properly captures that complicated detail in all it's glory. This resin set includes:
There are 6 pages of instruction in the usual line drawing format that Eduard is famous for and which are so easy to follow. You will be required to fold the photoetch in this set, but if you have one of the Hold & Fold photo etch benders from The Small Shop, then this will be an easy process. They have a variety of benders for sharp corners as well as rounded corners and in many different sizes. This cockpit set does a top notch job getting the tiny details right. You have the option of the multi-layered pre-painted instrument panel or the unpainted resin instrument panel. This cockpit set is designed to be displayed with the cockpit door closed, so you will need to do some extra work if you want the cockpit door open to show off all that added detail. There are many details in the spitfire cockpit that are best done in photo etch and others that are better suited to resin and this cockpit set seems to find a very happy balance between the 2 mediums to give you the best scale representation of this complicated cockpit. I like this cockpit set very much. You can buy this detail set and thousands of other items directly from Eduard Model Accessories. Images in this article are by Eduard Model Accessories.
