Thursday,   Aug 31  2006                Trinidad and Tobago National Day

  Happy Merdeka!     Malaysia National Day

There is some bad news about Humbrol Ltd, which is the parent company of the Humbrol and Airfix lines of hobby products.  Click here for the press release.  I have no interest in speculating further on this.  I wish all involved at Airfix.....especially the workers that have lost their jobs all the very best in this very distressing time.  I hope an investor is found to put the company back on track.  I have fond memories of building Airfix kits in my childhood.

Aidy Abdullah & Thomas Ng get this very special Merdeka update off to a good start with their Malaysian Fulcrums.   This article shows the latest markings and colours for the revised low-viz scheme for the Malaysian MiG-29's.   Nicely done guys.

Monday,  Aug 7  2006        Cote d'lvoire National Day
No update today.  I ended up sleeping about 4 to 5 hours each night while I was attending the Kansas City Nationals and the final night I sat up talking with a handful of friends in the hotel lobby (we REALLY didn't want it to end).  On the first leg of the plane ride home I had a great time talking to a new friend Randy from Large Scale Planes from California.  Needless to say by the time I got home at noon Sunday I was seriously in need of a good night sleep.  I need to transfer all my ARC files from my laptop back to my desktop.  I'll start to compile my remaining 400 photos from the Nats and will have some on ARC for Tuesday's update.  If you have people photos from the Nats you'd like included on ARC.....e-mail them to me here.  Darren Roberts was a complete hoot to be around. WOW....what a trip this was!!!!

Tanel Kask has been VERY busy detailling his 1/72 Italeri SU-33.   This one is amazing......Tanel has got a serious amount of skill and patience.
Chew Eng Hui joins us for the first time on ARC with his sharp looking   1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18F.   I really enjoy seeing Jolly Rogers jets and Chew did a careful weathering job on his F-18.
Igor Svetlov (IS) has been bust building his 1/72 Hasegawa Curtiss P-40N Warhawk.    Igor used a resin cockpit and aftermarket wheels for his fanely done P-40.
