Carmel J.Attard is here with another of his spectacular models.  This is his 1/72 Heller EC-121H which required quite a bit of work and aftermarket detail sets to complete.  This is a rare version of the Connie and I'm very pleased how well it turned out.  Carmel explains the whole process in his article. 

Darius Aibara is here with his 1/48 Falcon Hawker Seahawk FGA-4.  Once again Darius has taken a less than main stream vac-formed kit and turned it into a beauty. 

Jan Hermoch joins us with his 1/48 Hasegawa AH-64D Longbow Apache.  This AH-64 is actually part of a diorama from Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The diorama includes figures and other detail items.

Andrea De Tora is here with  the 1/72 ESCI AgustaBell 205 Carabinieri (military police of Italy) wearing Tauromodel decals.  Andrea added Aeroclub photo etch to improve the detail on this beautiful looking chopper.   

David Smigielski is here with his great looking 1/48 Academy MiG-21UM in Finnish markings.  David converted his MiG-21 into a two-seater using the Neomega resin set.  David custom made the tailart and then finished his MiG with weathering to get a realistic look.

Tolga Ulgur is here with his awesome looking 1/48 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf-109 F-4 Trop.  Tolga added Eduard photo etch seat belts and finished off his 109 with a awesome weathering job.  Tolga's 109 came out very nice.  I'm not sure why it is....but I like the desert paint scheme on the 109's.  Tolga's 109 came out very nice.

Today's update is 1 day late......my apologies to Charles and Vaclav....good job on the update guys!!!

Charles P. Kalina is a longtime friend and a darn nice guy and it is always a special day on Oct 28 when he contributes to the Czech Natioanl Day update.  Today he is here with his 1/72 Revell Bf.109G and KP Avia S.199 that were both at one time used by the police in the Czech Republic.  Charles chose very interesting paint schemes and completed them to his usual very high standard.

Vaclav Klimt joins us from the Czech Republic with his beautifully done 1/32 Trumpeter Avia S-92.  This is the big Trumpeter Me-262 converted to Avia S-92 by modifying a variety of details which Vaclav explains in his article.  Vaclav added plenty of detail that you can see in his photos.....I love the look of the plumbing in the wheel wells and those Eduard Brassin wheels look amazing.

Orlando Sucre Rosales joins us from sunny and warm Caracas, Venezuela with his beautifully finished 1/144 Minicraft Boeing B-29A 'Fire Belle'.  Orlando is a very special guy and a regular on ARC that I always enjoy hearing from.  He had quite the battle getting this baremetal finish looking so good and he tells the whole story in his article with plenty of lesson for the rest of us to learn.  Beautiful work Orlando and I'd like to wish your daughter a happy belated birthday.

Erickson Ong joins us from the Philippines with his sharp looking 1/72 Italeri F-16C.  Erickson scratbuilt the cockpit and then moved forward to complete his F-16 after dropping it during construction.  I have done that myself and it is a painful and frustrating experience.

Colin Whitehouse has dropped by with three 1/72 New Zealand Spitfires.  It's always good to see aircraft representing our friends from New Zealand.  Well done Colin...all three are beauties..

Zambia Independence Day

Carmel J.Attard has done a very special Antarctic Super Constellation.  This is his 1/72 Heller C-121J in the markings for an aircraft named Pegasus that crashed at the south pole using a Max Decals sheet.  Carmel improved and modified his Super Connie using aftermarket items and scratchbuilding and finished it all off with a flawless paint job and the perfect amount of weathering.  Carmel tell the fascinating historical story of this particular aircraft.  

Michael Taylor is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-16 block 30.  This F-16 is finished with TwoBobs decals.  A unique F-16 to say the least and wearing USMC markings.  I love the camo scheme.

Radim Schimmer from the Czech Republic has dropped by with his 1/72 Smer F4U-1A Corsair.  This beautiful folder wing Corsair features New Zealand markings.  Very nicely done Radim.

Orlando Arancibia R. is here with his beautifully done 1/50 Heller AS-350 B3 Chilean Army.  Orlando  scratchbuilt many many parts to make this an accurate Ecureuil V.I.P. from Chilean Army and his finished model shows complete realism.  My apologies for not getting this on ARC on Sept 18 for the Chilean Independence Day.

Chaz Nims joins us with his 1/48 Academy Mig 21 PF to keep the jet modelers happy today.  Chaz gives some very complete insight into building this kit as well as 2 excellent photos of the resin cockpit he painted up and added to his Mig-21.  Very nice Chaz. 

Joe Youngerman is here with one of my favorite versions of the 109.  This is his 1/72 Tamiya Bf-109E-4.  Joe's 109 is a post BOB Bf-109 from France in 1940.  Joe added photo etch seat belts and finished his Emil with Eaglecal decals and a careful amount of weathering.  A very nice model indeed.

My heart goes our to the young unarmed Canadian soldier that died Guarding the Tomb of The Unknown soldier in Canada.  This soldier was killed in a cowardly attack by a nitwit.

Burt Gustafson is here with a very special and colorful Danish F-15.  This is Burt's 1/48 Eduard F-16AM wearing 60th anniversary artwork consisting of the Danish Flag and a Lion on the tail which is quite the eye catching set of markings.  This one is spectacular looking. 


Chris Novak is here in style  today Chris would like you to enjoy his cutaway 1/32 Revell Bf-109 G4 converted to Bf-109F.  it takes a fair bit of extra effort to build a kit as a cutaway version.   Good job Chris on the 109....I love it.


Darius Aibara is here with a 1/48 Airfix RCAF/NATO Hawk CT-155.  I'm sure this Hawk in Canuck markings will please the Canadians that visit ARC.  Well done Darius.

Trafalgar Day - Royal Navy Anniversary

Mikhail Zelenin starts today with a flawless out of the box build of the 1/48 Hobby Boss Yak-38M Forger-A.  The Yak-38 was the only operational VTOL aircraft operated by the Soviet Navy and it is without a doubt a very unique aircraft that Mikhail captured very well with his model.  It's good to see his Yak-38 on ARC.

Robert-Jan Willekens has dropped by with his 1/48 Macchi Mc.202 Folgore.  Robert-Jan has provided some background on this aircraft as well as info about his model which is weathered. 

Maxime Pidara is here in style with a fine example of a flying boat modal.  This is Maxime's first article on ARC.  Here is Maxime's 1/144 H6K Type 97 Transport Flying Boat (Mavis).  Welcome to ARC Maxime!!

Rodrigo AD starts today in style with his 1/48 Encore Cessna A-37B Dragonfly.  Rodrigo added aftermarket detail items to improve his Dragonfly and then finished it  with a weapons load for a El Salvador Air Force jet that fought in the war.  I love the look of this Dragonfly. 

Parker Ewing joins us with his beautifully done 1/48 Tamiya Fw-190 D-13 ....it's a beaut that Parker spent plenty of effort adding detail items to get it looking just right.  I know you will enjoy every photo. 

J.C. Bahr is here with his beautifully done 1/72 Academy B-24J.  The B-24 is often overlooked and seldom built.....at least seldom seen on ARC.....so it's good to have JC's example in the ARC Gallery.  He built this one to match a plane flown by a  veteran he knows.

Victor De Jesus is here with his divebomber from 1944 in the Marshall Islands.  This is his 1/32 Revell Douglas SDB-5E Dauntless built out of the box with excellent looking cockpit detail.  Victor chose the classic and very attractive tri-color scheme to finish this PTO classic.  Very nicely done indeed. 


Dave Tong joins us with his 1/48 AFV F86 Sabre ROCAF.  This is finished in Taiwanese markings. This is Dave's second model on ARC and his F-86 is quite attractive.  Looking good Dave!!!


Marlon Guevara joins us with his 1/72 Testors Mi-25.  This one has a Sharks mouth and is finished in  Peruvian Air Force markings.  A special hello to his little nephews Daniel and Andres. Daniel and Andres.

Mikhail Zelenin is here with his second article on ARC and what a masterpiece his 1/48 Trumpeter Su-15TM Flagon-F is.  Mikhail  added a huge amount of aftermarket detail items and pulled it all together with great skill.  His Soviet jet is finished in a flawless bare metal finish.  This one is a beauty.


Zoltan Retfalvi joins us today with his stunning 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair VF-17 Jolly Rogers with some nice detailing and weathering.  Got to love those Jolly Rogers aircraft!!! 


Randy Lutz is here with another of his 1/48 Tamiya Dewoitine D.520.  Randy has provided some nice historical background on this aircraft.  Randy gave his D.520 a first class paint job with darkened panel lines.

John J. Thuot II is here with his excellent looking 1/72 Revell SR-71 Blackbird.  The pictures are a bit blurry, but from what I can tell it looks like John built a pretty good Blackbird.  Welcome to ARC John!! 

Maurizio Bressan is here with his 1/48 Ocidental T-6G.  Some folks may not know it but the Ocidental T-6 is a very nice kit.  Maurizio finished his in a nicely weathering baremetal finish.

David Rapasi is here to mark the US Navy's birthday with his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair.  David's WW2 PTO Corsair is nicely weathering and has a slight bit of paint chipping.....very nicely done.   

Eli Raphael of Zotz Decals is here to mark the US Navy's birthday with his 1/32 Academy F/A-18C Hornet.  Eli gave his Hornet an amazing weathering job along with folded wings and a full weapons load.  This one has won Eli some awards.....and after you see his Hornet...you'll understand why.

Shawn phantom Weiler gets things started in style with his 1/48 Hasegawa CF-18 Hornet.  Shawn added a pilot and full weapons load and finished his Canadian Hornet in 421 squadron markings from the First Gulf War.  Shawn even gave his Gulf War Hornet just the perfect amount of weathering.

James Kelley is here to remember a true American hero with his 1/72 Hasegawa  F4F-3 Wildcat.  James includes some wonder life story history for the pilot of this plane that was credited with 11 kills during the dark days in the battle for Guadalcanal .  This model is exceptional and the article is quite fascinating to read and includes a photo of the pilot and the text of his Citation that accompanied his Medal of Honor presentation at the White House.

Ted Sachs Jr. is here today with his first article on ARC.  Ted would like to show you his 1/1 Scale F-16 Cockpit.  I've considered doing this sort of project myself.......and I'm glad Ted sent in pics of his cockpit.  Very cool indeed.  Ted might do up a more detailed article for ARC if you e-mail him and ask real nice.  It all depends on the feedback he gets.

Harv is here with 2 of the 1/72 Hasegawa/Revell CP-140 Auroras.  Harv modified both of them in very specific ways to match the respective aircraft at a certain point in their operational careers.  Both are a treat to see and Harv explains in detail what details he changed to create them.

Darren McGuinness has dropped by with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4S done up in USMC-Hell's Angels markings.  This is one very nice looking set of markings on this bird.   Darren did a fine job finishing it. 

Joe Youngerman is here with one of my favorite 109 paint schemes.  This is his 1/72 Italeri Bf-109F-4 in desert camo.  Very nicely done Joe....lookin' good!!

  • Second Battle of Cambrai (aka Battle of Cambrai (1918)), a phase of the Battle of the Hindenburg Line.  October 8-October 10

Mark L. Rossmann joins us with another gem from his workbench.  This is his 1/48 ICM LF Mk. IX - Indochina Spitfire in French post war markings.  Mark explains the history behind the French Spitfires in Indochina and also about his flawless looking ICM Spitfire model.  Mark always includes well written history in his articles and I always come away after reading his article feeling much more knowledgeable.. 

Wayne Drinkwater is here with 1/144 Revell BAE 146 (TNT)...check out the tail markings for this airliner....quite amusing.   Wayne captured the look of the full sized aircraft very well.

Darius Aibara has done a gorgeous job building and finishing the classic 1/48 Matchbox A1E Skyraider.  Darius chose to finish his Skyraider in markings for an aircraft off the USS Enterprise in the early 1960's.  Beautiful work Darius.

Victor De Jesus is here with his navalized version of the B-24.  This is Victor's 1/72 Minicraft PB4Y-1 Liberator with big beautiful noseart.  Victor added wiring to the engines and finished his PB4Y-1 free hand using his airbrush.  It is very cool to see one of these submarine hunting Liberators on ARC's homepage.  Well done Victor.


Bill Bunting has built the big 1/32 Tamiya F-15E 'Bunker Buster' and loaded it with excellent cockpit and radar detail and a full weapons load.  Bill put plenty of effort into his big F-15 and he was rewarded with a stunning model of this exceptional jet.  I enjoyed every photo of it.

Igor Cernisevski has been very busy on his 1/72 Hasegawa A6M2 Zero.  Igor rescribed his Zero and scratchbuilt a cockpit, wheel wells, exhausts and finished it all off with weathering and paint chipping.  It's a good looking Zero.

Rick Chin's built Models are up for auction.  This is a chance for people to buy a model built by the legendary nice guy and avid model builder Rick Chin. Hal Marshman, Sr is here with something very rare.  This is Hal's 1/48 Fine MOLDS Mitsubishi KA-14 which is the prototype for the A5M "Claude".  Hal enjoyed building this kit and he gives a wonderful breakdown of the full build process that was involved to build such an excellent looking model.  It's a beautiful looking model Hal.

Wayne Hui begins today's update with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4F in German markings.  This particular F-4 was built long ago but Wayne decided to strip the paint and give it  anew paint scheme.  The end result is very nice indeed.

Gerd Wilcken starts today with a very aggressive looking 1/48 HobbyBoss EMB-314 (A-29) Super Tucano.  Gerd chose a Colombian aircraft complete with a sharks mouth complete with underwing stores.  Excellent work Gerd.....it's always a treat to see your latest model on the ARC homepage.


Karl W Branson was very busy with his 1/48 Italeri Eurofighter Typhoon.  Karl scratch built a cockpit for his Typhoon that included a new HUD and then chose a paint scheme for a Typhoon serving with the RAF.  Very nicely done indeed. 


David Rapasi joins us with his beautifully done 1/48 Tamiya F4U1 Corsair.  This is a  USMC Corsair.  The folded wings and weathering make this plane look like it's resting between missions.  David is a master when it comes to painting and weathering and you'll see that when you view his Corsair.

Guinea Independence Day

Dragan Cvetic is here with another gem from his display case.  This is his 1/72 RV Aircraft MiG-21 SMT in Russian markings with a fantastic looking camo scheme.  Dragan has much experience building the MiG-21 and this one has a scatchbuilt pitot tube and a weapons load and beautifully done weathering..

Ed Fuquay is building the 1/24 Trumpeter Supermarine Spitfire.  Today he presents Part 1.....when he gets more done he'll present Part 2 and so on.  Ed has detailed his engine with a bit of artistic licence.....so everything might not be 100% accurate....but it looks very good.  I like your style Ed.  

Fernando Azurdia has dropped by with a very interesting article to say the least.  This is his 1/72 F4F-3S "Wild Catfish".  It is a conversion of Academy´s 1/72 F4F-4 "Wildcat".  quite the cool concept.....the article is quite fascinating.

Hal Marshman, Sr has added quite a bit of scratchbuilt detailing to his 1/48 HobbyBoss Fw-190D-9.  Hal has a great deal of experience building the Dora and you will clearly see his skill when you look at the photos of his model.  Of special interest are the plywood flaps on his latest Dora.

Hank Gruben has made quite the cool looking what-if model..  This is Hank's 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1S Valkyrie.  This jet doesn't exist in 1/1 scale but it's quite the sight to see.  Check out the Jolly Rogers tail markings. 

Wannapong Ngamkasem has dropped by with his 1/48 AMT Hs-129B.  This is the famous Tank Hunter used by the Luftwaffe during WW2.  Wannapong has done a fine job on this one and finished in markings for an aircraft from the Russian Front in the last winter of the war..
