Barbados National Day

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

P.B. has done an amazing job detailing and weathering his 1/48 Freedom Models – X-47B UCAS.  P.B. created an operational version of the X-47B complete with internal weapons loads and detailed weapons bays.  P.B. has included a very convincing what-if article to go with his jet powered USN UAV.  P.B. builds some very interesting models.

Carmel J Attard joins us from Malta with his multi-media vacuformed 1/72 Sanger Piaggio Avanti P-180.  Carmel explains the build process is easy to follow wonderful detail and for his efforts he was rewarded with an exceptional model in very interesting Italian markings using custom made decals.  The design on the twin engined pusher executive aircraft is quite fascinating.  You make it look so easy Carmel.

Osvaldo Carrasco V. joins us from Chile with his flawless 1/72 Academy F-8E Crusader.   Osvaldo added Eduard photo etch to the cockpit and finished his Crusader in high viz markings with a mixed weapons load and just the right amount of weathering to high light the features of his jet.  Beautiful work.

Albania Liberation Day

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

JD is here with a very cool looking 1/72 Zvezda Sukhoi Su-37.  JD dressed up the details with plenty of work and skill.  For the camo scheme, JD chose the Japanese Ace Combat Simulator game camo which looks excellent.

Mike Muth is here with something very rare today.  This is his 1/32 Italian Nieuport 11 which Mike built by combining the A-Model Nieuport Bebe and Academy Nieuport 17.  This one was flown by an Italian ace and features some very interesting artwork.  Mike certainly got everything looking great on this complicated project, I love the look of it.

Mack Main joins us with his what-if article for his 1/72 Pioneer 2 Sea Fury. Mack tells the story behind this Sea Fury and I must say I enjoyed seeing his Sea Fury in Red Tailed markings.  Very cool read Mack.

Mauritania Independence Day

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Leszek Szopieray joins us from Poland with his 3rd article on ARC.  This 1/48 Eduard MiG-21PFM is finished in Polish markings complete with a perfect bare metal finish and panel line shading.  He gave his MiG air to air missiles and a drop tank for it's interceptor role.  Very nicely done Leszek.

Gerd Wilcken is here today in style with his highly detailed 1/72 Revell Mil Mi-24 V (Mi-35).  This 1/72 kit has almost 300 parts and Gerd built it into a highly detailed model that shows off well with all the open panels.  The Czech Air Force markings feature big Tiger scheme noseart which looks fantastic.

Mike Regan is here with a wonderfully detailed write-up on building the 1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk.I.  Mike tells the history of the early Spitfire and the features of this newer issued Airfix kit.  I found his article a fascinating read and his model is a beautifully done rendition of an early Spitfire.

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Gerson Garcia starts today with his excellent 1/48 Academy F-16A Fighting Falcon.  Gerson added scratchbuilt details and finished it with Chilean Air Force using aftermarket decals and quite the attractive camo scheme.  Beautifully done indeed.

Shawn “phantom” Weiler is here with 2 of his recent 1/72 Hasegawa Neptune(s).  Each represents a very different selection of paint scheme and markings used by the RCAF.  An excellent choice in markings.

Dragan Cvetic has high regards for the 1/72 Trumpeter MiG-29 9.12. He added cockpit details along with a pitot tube and finished in in a lo-viz Yogoslavian camo scheme.  Another flawless model by Dragan.

Angelo M Picardo is here with a stunner.  This masterpiece is his 1/32 FLY Westland Wessex HC2 with Angelo's skilled scratchbuilt detail along with a flawless weather RAF camo scheme.  No doubt about it.....this must be an impressive sight in 1/32 scale.

Andri Sanjaya joins us from Indonesia with the latest addition to the Indonesian Air Force.  This is his 1/72 Academy F-16C 52ID gently weathered and set up with a proper weapons load for it's intended mission role.  It's a treat to see this special F-16 on ARC. 

Murad has taken the highly acclaimed 1/32 Tamiya A6M5 Zeke and finished it to a stellar level with his OOB build.  His painting and finishing beautifully compliments this exceptional kit.  I'm very impressed how well this Zeke looks.

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Richard Spreckley is here with his eye catching 1/48 Kinetic Su-33 Flanker D wearing blue Russian naval colours.  Richard added extra photos etch to dress up his Flanker and give it exceptional detail before finishing it with a beautifully shaded and weathered camo scheme.  I love the look of it.

Carmel J Attard has done a gorgeous job on his 1/72 Britavia Models Westland Dragonfly HR3.  This is a vac-u-formed kit with it's own special challenge, but the final model is a joy to see with it's delicate weathering and Royal Navy markings.  Read Carmel's article for the full story on the history and build process.  Carmel's models are always a treat to see on ARC.

Lebanon National Day

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Victor De Jesus has pulled together a variety of aftermarket detail items and decals to create a flawless replica of one of the most loved F-14's...a Jolly Rogers Tomcat.  This is his 1/32 Revell F-14A Tomcat VF-84 Jolly Rogers complete with a resin ejection seats and smaller detail items and a variety of decals to complete this beauty.  The Jolly Rogers Tomcat was a legendary aircraft and Victor's F-14 is a pleasure to see and I'm proud to have it on ARC. 

Shawn 'Phantom' Weiler has been busy recently and here are his Two 1/32 Kinetic CT-155 Hawks.  Shawn chose to build these in the standard training scheme and a commemorative scheme honouring a WWII Canadian Lancaster.  Both of these were built out of the box and in this big scale they do make a lovely sight.

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Sean Langley has climbed one of the Mt Everest in our hobby.  He completed the 1/48 Airfix Blackburn Buccaneer S.Mk.2 and did a darn fine job adding detail to it and produced a very worthy model from this very challenging old Airfix kit.  I'm very impressed Sean...it's a stunning Buc model.

Thomas Brόckelt joins us from Germany with his 1/72 Italeri RF-104G-1 Starfighter wearing German Luftwaffe markings.  Thomas scratchbuilt the special parts needed to create this very rare jet.  His finished model is a treat to see on ARC.

Mexican Revolution Anniversary

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Gerson Garcia is here with his Mexican 1/48 Italeri F-5E Tiger II wearing special anniversary Tiger markings.  Gerson fitted his F-5 with training missiles and finished it in a great looking Mexican jungle camo scheme.  A sharp looking F-5 Gerson.

Charlies Rodriguez has done a stunning job detailing and weathering his 1/35 Academy AH-1WCharlies added some excellent scratchbuilt details and then got his Cobra looking flawless with a first class weathering job.  Amazing job Charlies.

Dragan Cvetic has captured the look of the Russian flanker perfectly with his 1/72 Trumpeter Su-27.  Dragan added extra detailing to the cockpit and a pitot tube.  His choice of the light blue camo gives his model the perfect camo for it's interceptor role with it's full load of air to air missiles.  This Su-27 is a treat to see.

Didier Mayeur has done an impressive job detailing and weathering his 1/72 Italeri SR 71.  Didier added Eduard photo etch and then gave his Blackbird some amazing shading to create a stunning weathering effect.  Truly impressive work Didier..

Richard Briggs is here with 26 photos of some of the outstanding model on display at this year's AMPS Great White North Model Show in Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa.  There were some first class model on display...enjoy the photos.

Richard Briggs is here with 13 photos of some of the 1/1 scale armoured vehicldes on display at the Aquino Tank Weekend / AMPS Great White North Model Show.  The vehicles cover a wide variety of time periods.

Brazil Republic Day

Gerson Garcia is here on Brazil's Republic Day with his Brazilian 1/48 Hasegawa A-4M (AF-1) Skyhawk.  Gerson chose a wavey camo scheme for A Brazilian Navy Skyhawk complete with drop tanks and missiles.  I love seeing Gerson's models on ARC.

Polly Singh has done a flawless job finishing and weathering his 1/48 Hasegawa Ki 44 Shoki Type II Hei.  Polly tells the history of the Ace that flew this fighter as well as what he did to build this beauty and the very realistic looking base.  I loved seeing this model. 

Serge Dompierre is here with an exceptionally enjoyable article about his What-if 1/48 Hobbycraft A-4CN Sea Eagle.  This was a heavily improved Skyhawk used by the Royal Canadian Navy.  Enjoy his wonderful article....I sure did.

Floyd S. Werner, Jr. is here with a full build article about his 1/48 Kitty Hawk UH-1D.  Floyd's real life experience with helicopters gives his article a fantastic insight into the finer details of building the 1/48 Kitty Hawk UH-1D.  The weathering and quality of this build if truly inspiring.

Gavin Parnaby joins us with his beautifully done 1/72 Skybirds '86 Supermarine Scimitar.  This is a  multi-media kit that Gavin built as a weathered Royal Navy bird complete with drop tanks and weapons load.  I really enjoyed seeing his Scimitar on ARC.

Bill Arnold is here with something very special today.  This is his 1/72 Special Hobby Buchon “Movie Star” which is a Spanish built Bf 109 as it appeared in the Battle of Britain movie in 1969.  I loved the movie when I saw it at the theater and it's great to see Bill's model of it on ARC.

Bob Leonard joins us with his 5th model on ARC and the first Lockheed T2V SeaStar on ARC.  This is Bob's 1/72 Sword Lockheed T2V-1 SeaStar in USN trainer markings.  It's a cool looking trainer and Bob's model captures the look of the real aircraft very well.  Beautiful work Bob, it's great to see it on ARC.

Greece Hellenic Air Force Day

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Gerson Garcia is here with his first model on ARC to honour the  Hellenic Air Force Day.  This is Gerson's 1/48 Italeri Mirage 2000 EGM built OOB in Greek markings.  This is one sharp looking Mirage 2000 and I'm excited to have more of Gerson's models on ARC in the coming weeks.

Victor De Jesus is here to honor special friends he served with.  This is his 1/35 Academy UH-60L Black Hawk in the markings of the 101st ABN AASLT Division.  Victor made up a custom decal for the nose and finished his chopper to a very high level....the interior looks great.  Excellent work Victor.

Peter Verlooy joins us today with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Esci F-104 G Starfighter in the famous Tiger Meet paint scheme from 1978.  Peter is known as Pete74 on the ARC forums and I'm excited to see more of his articles on ARC.  Beautiful work Peter.

Rodrigo AD joins us from El Salvador with his 5th model on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Italeri Bell UH-1H Huey with added aftermarket sets and a huge amount of scratchbuilt detailing to make thi s a truly exceptional model in El Salvador markings.  The noseart is a playboy bunny logo, very nice indeed.

Shawn “phantom” Weiler is here with another of his airshow CF-18 and this is one of my favourites.  Shawn's 1/32 Academy CF-18A Hornet #68 is wearing the 2015 RCAF Battle of Britain anniversary using decals from Canuck decals.  Shawn dressed up the cockpit with a resin seat.  It's good to see this one in 1/32 scale.

Tolga άlgόr is here with his stunning 1/32 Hobbycraft P-51 Mustang MK.1A.  This is an RAF Mustang with plenty of added detail thanks to various aftermarket sets and some skilled scratchbuilding by Tolga.  The cockpit detailing is exceptional as you will see in his photos and his weathering looks very realistic.

Algeria - The Revolution Day of 1st November

Klaasjan Schuuring has done a spectacular job on the big 1/32 Tamiya Vought F4U 1a Corsair.   Klaasjan added extra detail to his magnificent Corsair using some Eduard sets and then completed his 'bent wing bird' using his excellent skill at weathering.  His finished model is a huge pleasure to see.  Enjoy all of his photos of this wonderful model.
