Silly Week begins tomorrow!!

Shawn "phantom" Weiler has high praise for the 1/72 Airfix Lancaster MKII.  Shawn finished his Lanc in RCAF markings complete with nose art.  An excelelnt looking model built from a great kit.

Serbian Air Force Day

To track Santa on Christmas Eve with your kids...go to this website http://www.noradsanta.org/  this is the NORAD Santa tracking website with plenty of great videos of Santa doing his deliveries on Christmas Eve.  There are also games and videos and other fun things to do.

Alvis 3.1 is here with his Christmas Eve tradition.  This is his article of the "The Shepherd" from the short story by Frederick Forsyth of a young fighter pilot lost over the north sea as he tries to head home on Christmas eve in 1957.  In Alvis' article you will find a link to the 32 minute audio story which is a most enjoyable listen.

Tony Feredo joins us on Christmas Eve with his 1/48 Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero that arrived in the Philippines over Clark Airfield near Manila on December 8, 1941.  Tony masked and painted all markings and gave his Zero a flawless paint job with subtle weathering.  Amazing work Tony!!

Dragan Cvetic is here with his great looking out of the box build of his 1/144 Revell Eurofighter Typhoon.  Dragan was quite impressed with the fit on this tiny 1/144 jet and it does look good with a gentle weathering job and RAF markings.  I love it!!

Japan - Birthday of H.I.M. Emperor Akihito

Paolo Yuen is here with the 1/48 AMK F-14D Super Tomcat with a beautifully finished weathering job.  This AMK F-14 kit is a popular discussion on the ARC forums and Paolo did an excellent job on it. 

Thomas Brückelt joins us with a glider from the late 1930's.  Thomas modified the canopy on his 1/72 AZ model DFS Olympia Meise and finished it in Czech markings.  This is a sleek looking glider.

Klaasjan Schuuring has done an exceptional job detailing his 1/32 Revell (Dragon) Bf110 C2.  Klaasjan added extra Eduard detail sets and gave his 110 fully weathering with both engines on display.  Beautiful work Klaasjan.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with a very unique allied bomber from WW2.  This is his 1/72 MPM Wellington finished as a RCAF bomber lost over France in 1941.  It's good to see your Wellington on ARC Shawn, I love it.

Ulysses Almeida is here with a special 1/48 Czech Model Yakovlev Yak-15 finished in the the all red Soviet Air Force Aerial Demonstration Team colour scheme as seen at the Tushino Air Display in 1948.  Ulysses tells some very interesting history about the design of this early Soviet jet fighter.

Carl Jarosz has done a stellar job on his 1/72 Meng F-102A Delta Dagger in the markings of the 32nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron.  Carl painted some of the markings on this beauty and I know you will enjoy seeing the photos.

Niger - Proclamation of the Republic 

Michael Hickey is here with one of the most famous 109's from the North Africa campaign.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa Bf 109F-4/Trop finished as the personal mount for Hptm Hans-Joachim Marseille.  Very cool to see this 109 on ARC.. 

Waldek Pupar has been very busy building his very detailed and impressive 1/72 RPM diorama.  I welcome all types of models on ARc from Aircraft to Armor and cars etc.

Bhutan National Day

Sherbir is here with a beautifully weathered 1/72 Akkura MiG-21PF to MiG-21FL Type 77 conversion Indian Air Force.  Shebir has included some interesting history on the MiG-21 in Indian Air Force service.  I love the look of this Indian MiG.

Bahrain National Day

Mark L. Rossman is here with another of his fascinating article loaded with history.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa P-47M and Mark explains the mechanical development of the P-47 and some of it's operational history.  He then gives good insight into building the Hasegawa P-47M.  I always enjoy reading Mark's articles.

Paolo Yuen has done a first class job on his  1/144 Zvezda A320.  Dragan Air is based in Hong Kong and has some great looking Dragan artwork on the tail.  Paolo gave his airliner some weathering and the markings came from an aftermarket decal sheet.  It's a great looking airliner model Paolo.

Saint Lucia Independence Day

Carmel J. Attard is here with a rare aircraft.  This is his 1/72 Valom Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle finished in RAF markings from WW2.  Carmel provides some insight into the role of this aircraft.  I quite like the look of it. 

Dragan Cvetic is here with a colourful jet from the Yugoslav flight demo team.  This is his 1/72 Yumo G-4 Supergaleb Letece Zvezde (Flying Stars) with added pilot figures and HUD and posed as an in-flight aircraft.  Very cool indeed.

Kenya Independence Day

Dragan Cvetic is here with the first of this aircraft on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Croco Resin Beech RU-8D Seminole finished in US markings with weathering for added realism.  This sounds like it was quite the challenging kit to build, but Dragan got it looking excellent. 

Rafael (RSK48) is here to mark the recent anniversary of the Venezuelan Air Force with his 1/48 Fly Jet Provost T.Mk.52.  Rafael  scratchbuilt the smaller details and then finished his jet with homemade decals to get the colorful markings.  It is a very attractive jet.

Constitution Day in Thailand

Sinking of the HMS Prince of Wales and Repulse   (1941)

"Blackeyes" is here from Thailand to mark the Constitution Day in Thailand with his beautifully finished 1/72 Academy Cessna A-37B "Dragonfly".  Blackeyes finished his Dragonfly with a full weapons load in the markings for The Royal Thai Air Force using Siam Decals.  Excellent work Blackeyes, I always enjoy seeing your work on ARC.

Mike Muth is here with another of his spectacular builds from the great war.  Today you get to see his 1/32 Wingnut Wings Sopwith Pup finished in the markings for a young Canadian complete with text artwork for this fighter.  Mike was impressed with the quality of this kit and gives helpful insight into building it.  I love it Mike.

Thomas Brückelt is here with his excellent looking model of the 1/72 KP Aero L-159A Alca finished in Czech markings.  Thomas did some added work and gave it quite the impressive weapons load and gave it a great looking camo scheme.


Shawn "phantom" Weiler joins us with a lesser known 4 engined bomber flown by the RCAF.  This is the 1/72 Revell Halifax (special) finished with great looking markings including a bit of noseart.  Shawn built this beauty for someone else.

Louis Chang has put quite a bit of effort into super detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa P-40E Flying Tiger.  Louis opened up the engine compartment and detailed the gun compartment and dropped the flaps as well as added cockpit detailing.  It is all finished with a flawless weathering job.  Spectacular effort Louis.

George Siriyotin is here with a very special Phantom.  This is his 1/48 Monogram F-4J US Navy VX-4 “Vandy 1”, which turned out very good considering the older kit he started with.  This is George's first model on ARC and I hope to see more of his work on ARC in the future.

Laos Proclamation of the Republic

United Arab Emirates National Day

Carmel J. Attard is a master at building rare aircraft made from vac-u-formed kits and today he is here with something very rare.  This is his 1/72 Joy Stick Models Avro Bison which is the first Avro Bison on ARC.  Carmel finished his Bison in FAA markings and has included some very interesting historical photos of Bisons in Malta. 

Dragan Cvetic has done an impressive job weathering his 1/72 Mastercraft Su-22m4.  Dragan finished his Su-22 in Iraqi markings and a great looking camo scheme.
